Full Description:

Maggie Moore's authentic Irish Food right in our own backyard!!

In the middle of our hectic day, and yes you can understand hectic, your MyMontville.com sponsers needed to stop for a quick bite somewhere. We had just negotiated a sales contract on a local home and had to drop the contracts off in Lincoln Park to be signed. We were starving and had to find something local. As we were approaching the Old "Road Runner's" on Rt 202 in Lincoln Park, we decided to stop there. We were very apprehensive, because the food was never that good and we knew it had changed owners several times. The last name was "Over there" or Over here" or something like that!!
As we pulled in we noticed it was now "Maggie Moore's" Not expecting anything special we decided to go in.
Much to our surprise, what a great place!!!!
The ambiance was very welcoming and put us in an excellent mood imediately!
And then!!!!
THE FOOD!!! TO DIE FOR!!
I had the Fish and Chips. Excellent!! Bill had the Corn Beef and Cabbage!! Outstanding!!!,

We were so impressed, I have to tell everyone about this place right in our own backyard!
We met the owners Neville and Vera and they were so welcoming.

Maggie Moores is located on Rt 202 in Lincoln Park. The official address is 7 Midwood Rd
973-305-9800

Below is an article that was posted in the daily record January 08.

Enjoy, Good luck and Happy St. Patricks Day!!!
Your sponsers, Joanne and Bill

Maggie Moore's has authentic Irish food

SPECIAL TO THE DAILY RECORD

Four generations of Maggie Moores have inspired a legacy and the reason for owner Neville Gibson to honor that name at his new Lincoln Park restaurant. In addition to the name, diners at Maggie Moore's can also revel in the down-home Irish cuisine of Gibson's ancestry.
"My mother is Maggie Moore and she is the fourth generation of Maggie Moores," Gibson said. "My great, great, great grandmother passed down the recipes and my mom would make them for our family and now I have put these great recipes on my menu at the restaurant in her honor."
Some of the homemade dishes are Irish stew, shepherds pie, meat pie, steak and kidney pie, and Irish meatballs, plus there will be other specialty Irish dishes available on the specials menu.
"My mom was also the first one to cook the first shepherds pie and meat pie on the night we opened the restaurant," Gibson said.
Further, Gibson has chosen to revive the homemade pancake recipe of his ancestors, affectionately calling it Maggie Moore's Irish pancakes. He said he grew up on those pancakes and that he loved to eat them as a kid. They will be available on the breakfast menu when the restaurant begins its Saturday and Sunday breakfast service on Jan. 12.
In addition, the Irish pancake mix and Irish soda bread (another family recipe) will soon be available for purchase at the restaurant.
Besides Irish fare, Maggie Moore's hosts many other food choices on its menu. Some of the specialty entrees are chicken or shrimp scampi, broiled salmon, chicken pot pie and Irish sizzling fajitas, plus all entrees include soup or salad, vegetable and potato. There is also a separate steak list including ribs, and what Gibson calls his specialty sizzling steak with a special sauce.
"The New York strip steak will be served sizzling with a special sauce that I discovered when I was overseas many years ago," Gibson said.
There is also a long list of appetizers (their own version called Irish nachos), soups, salads, flamed broiled 10-ounce burgers, sandwiches and a separate kid's menu.
The bright yet intimate dining room has a New England style flare including French doors that go out to two separate outdoor patio areas, one larger and one smaller. In the evening special lighting in the dining room reflects off the pictures on the wall transforming the room into a surreal and intimate dining experience.
Patrons will also take notice of the very large bar in its own separate room far enough away from the dining room so that diners can enjoy a quiet meal. But if diners prefer to eat at the bar, then besides the bar stools, there are plenty of booths to sit at in the bar area to enjoy the meal.
The bar area also plays host to all the premium NFL stations, and all the Nascar races from its many televisions that can be viewed from every area or seat in the room. The bar has plenty of beers on tap, beers by the bottle, top shelf liquor and wine by the glass or bottle.
For fun, every night Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. is happy hour. Included in the happy hour are special drink prices and free appetizers.

Upcoming events at Maggie Moore's will feature a Super Bowl Party with wings, beer, and appetizer specials, a special Valentine's Day menu, and a St. Patrick's Day party with bagpipe players, special beers on tap such as Harp, Guinness, and Bass, and corned beef and cabbage.
Karaoke also begins on Jan. 17 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., and will be ongoing every Thursday night thereafter.
With a brand new restaurant open only two weeks, Gibson would like his establishment to be known as a family restaurant as well as a fun place to meet new people or gather with friends, a place to watch different sporting events, or come for one of the ongoing special parties.
"As an Irish American pub and restaurant we want people to have a different experience here," Gibson said. "It's a great place to meet people, eat good food, and get good entertainment. Whether you sit down and watch sports or eat in the dining room you can get the best of both worlds."
