Brand new kennel opens up under new ownership!!

MORE THAN JUST A KENNEL, LLC (formerly KC Kennels) under the new ownership of the Rossetti family and the management of Jay Rossetti, Behaviorist/Trainer.

Some of you may remember Jay from his time working at KC Kennels. He is now a co-owner and Manager of the kennel and excited to be back working with you and your pets. As owner of ON COMMAND dog training, dog-lover extroadinaire, and "dad to 4 1/2 year old German Shepherd, Sampson and 6 1/2 year old Jack Russell Terrier, Baci, Jay fully understands the love and anxiety you feel for the canine members of your family and takes very seriously the trust you place in him when your pups come to stay for a night, a week or whatever your needs may be.

Jay had been training and rehabilitating dogs since 2000. He teaches people how to properly communicate with their dogs by understanding their behavior and instincts. He has worked with breeds of all sizes, temperaments, and ages, from a Maltese and Jack Russell to a German Shepherd and Great Dane; from 7 weeks old to their senior years; from the most timid to the most aggressive. "No dog is beyond rehabilitation!"

As Jay says, "Man's best friend is usualy misunderstood and the problem usually lies not with the pet but with the owner. People do certain things that confuse their dogs, and this miscommunication can result in frustration for both the owner and the dog. In a wolf pack there is always a leader and rarely any miscommunication. They can over come any obstacle by working together. You and your dog can do the same thing once you can understand each other. The greatest difficulty isn't learning how to properly communicate with your dog, but training yourself out of the bad habits that you have already learned."

Running out doors, jumping on guests, attacking the vacuum, stealing food, jumping on furniture, chewing, barking, mouthing, pulling on walks, crying at the dinner table, playing too aggressively, not coming when called - these are just some of the most common problems that owners encounter with their canine family members that can easily be fixed.

Jay has helped people in every aspect of training, from introducing a new puppy into "the pack" (the family) to teaching how to become an "alpha" (pack leader) in order to control aggression. Jay will be organizing obedience training group classes at More Than Just a Kennel, LLC as well as private lessons either on site or in your own home. Jay has also done agility, waterdog, tracking, and attack training.
